HackDuke, a series of student-run hackathons, has taken place at Duke over the past couple years. So far, there have been three hackathons hosted at Duke University during the folllowing seasons: Fall 2013, Spring 2014, Fall 2014. The event typically consists of students either from Duke or other universities. The students work in small groups over a 24 hour period to create a final product.
